We would be grateful if you could convey the following information to your churches, especially the news that we will no longer be sending food in our containers. Thank you.
1. The next container will be packed on Tuesday 7 February 2012, going to Bryony Pichanick in Zimbabwe. Volunteers to help on the day (especially strong ones who can help with the heavy lifting of sacks etc) are always welcome, and lunch will be provided.
2. Due to the many and varied restrictions and requirements of the different countries that we send to, the committee have decided that it is no longer sensible or practical to send food in our containers. Therefore, from now on, we cannot accept any food. Please can you let any groups, schools or churches that you are in contact with know this. We will try to write to them ourselves but cannot be sure to notify everyone. Although it is a long way off we would like to advise that if anyone wants to collect for O.S. at Harvest then the following items would be very gratefully received.
Soap, toothbrushes & toothpaste, candles (but not matches), school stationery e.g. pens / pencils / crayons / rulers / erasers / pencil sharpeners / exercise books (plain, ruled or squared). Money to pay towards the containers is always needed.
